Hanham properties built before 1980 still have plaster on lath ceilings, which cracks along the lath joints over time. We board-and-skim with 12.5mm plasterboard and a two-coat skim — much faster than patch repairs and gives a flat modern ceiling ready for painting.

Internal plastering is one of our most-requested services across Bristol. The most common jobs are full-house re-skims after rewiring or plumbing work, plastering of new extensions and loft conversions, and patching repairs after damp treatment or electrical work. We work with British Gypsum, Knauf and Thistle systems — including their most modern one-coat and airless spray products. The 1930s semi-detached homes along Court Road, Tabernacle Road and the Avon Ring Road form the backbone of the area — typically 3-bed, 900-1,100 sq ft, with original sand-and-cement or pebbledash render that's now 60-80 years old and reaching end-of-life. The post-war detached homes on the Park Farm and Blue Mountain estates (built 1955-1975) are generally larger — 1,200-1,800 sq ft — and many have original 1970s pebbledash that's failing. The newer homes on the riverside developments and the Blue Mountain extension are 1990s-2000s executive detached, typically already rendered but with acrylic systems that are starting to fail.
