Frenchay has a mix of 1930s detached and 1970s-80s executive homes, many on the larger side and set in mature gardens. The 1930s stock typically needs full strip-back; the 1970s-80s stock often has acrylic that's reaching end-of-life.

Frenchay is one of the most upmarket suburbs in BS16 — a leafy village suburb with large detached houses on generous plots, the Frome Valley running through, and the Bristol-Bath cycle path on the doorstep. The housing is dominated by 1950s-60s executive detached (often 1,500-2,500 sq ft), some older period detached, and the modern new-build activity as the old Frenchay Hospital site has been redeveloped.
