Keynsham's older housing has a mix of lath-and-plaster ceilings (inter-war stock) and modern plasterboard (post-war estates). Lath ceilings fail along the joints after 80+ years — we board over with 12.5mm plasterboard and skim, which is faster than patch repairs and gives a flat modern finish.

Internal plastering is one of our most-requested services across Bristol. The most common jobs are full-house re-skims after rewiring or plumbing work, plastering of new extensions and loft conversions, and patching repairs after damp treatment or electrical work. We work with British Gypsum, Knauf and Thistle systems — including their most modern one-coat and airless spray products. Keynsham is a market town in Bath and North East Somerset, roughly equidistant between Bristol and Bath, and the housing stock spans both traditions. Around the High Street and Temple Street there is a modest Georgian and Victorian core, some of it stone-built and some in conservation area. Beyond that the town is dominated by inter-war semi-detached housing and post-war estates on the Chandag, Park Estate and Queens Road sides, with a growing amount of modern development on the old Cadbury's factory site and the edges of the town. That means the work splits cleanly: breathable, sympathetic systems on the older core, and standard silicone or monocouche on the far larger inter-war and post-war stock, much of which still carries original pebbledash or sand-and-cement that is now at end of life.
