Brislington's mix of Victorian terraces around Sandy Park and 1970s pebbledash semis on Brislington Hill needs different approaches. The terraces take a strip-and-re-render with mesh reinforcement (the old sand-and-cement is bonded poorly), while the pebbledash semis often just need a clean substrate prep and one-coat silicone.

Brislington is a long ribbon suburb running along the A4 Bath Road from Totterdown to the A4174 ring road. The housing stock varies dramatically by elevation. The lower parts around Sandy Park Road and the Bath Road have Victorian terraces and 1930s semis — these are often the trickier renders because of the narrow streets and limited access for scaffold. The mid-elevation residential streets (Brislington Hill, Eagle Road, Wick Road) have the bulk of the 1950s-70s semis with original pebbledash that's now failing. The upper parts around Broomhill and the A4174 have 1970s-90s detached and modern infill.
