Redland's Victorian and Edwardian interiors are mostly lime plaster over lath — same considerations as Clifton, with the additional wrinkle that many of the larger villas have been converted to flats, so we're often working around tenants and shared access. We patch with lime plaster where possible.

Internal plastering is one of our most-requested services across Bristol. The most common jobs are full-house re-skims after rewiring or plumbing work, plastering of new extensions and loft conversions, and patching repairs after damp treatment or electrical work. We work with British Gypsum, Knauf and Thistle systems — including their most modern one-coat and airless spray products. Redland sits between Clifton and Bishopston, and the housing is overwhelmingly late-Victorian and Edwardian: bay-fronted terraces on the streets off Redland Road, larger semi-detached and detached villas towards Redland Green, and a high proportion of houses subdivided into flats. That subdivision shapes the work. A great deal of what we are called to is internal and often urgent — a leak through a landing ceiling, a re-skim after rewiring, making good after a conversion — rather than full-property external rendering. Where external work does come up it tends to be rear elevations and returns, which on these houses are frequently rendered while the front is left as facing brick or stone. Parts of Redland fall inside conservation areas, and the stock is solid-wall throughout, so breathability matters on any external system.
